Hi!
I collect all copper pennies and decided to taka a look at them for the 30th time. This 1944 just didnt look all copper, it had a lot of brown rust so I dipped it in acetone and the rust started to fall off, still has a lot of it remaining....What do you think.
Thank you.

Slap a magnet to it and see if it sticks.

Hi guys
Got a magnet and guess what....It did not stick or adhered to the penny.
Why is that, did they mixed other metals back in the day?....very disappointed, but a keeper nevertheless.
Thank you all.

After the magnet test, there's a weight test--an accurate weight to two decimal places.

Looks light it might have been plated and the plating is now wearing off.

I was waiting for the magnet test result.

Electro zinc plated.
Easy to do in a high school lab experiment.

A 'keeper', for the sake of curiousity.

Hi guys, me again.
I dont understand the electroplating state...is it from copper to zinc or vice-versa.
Because the rust is covering the silver, it seems that the rust or copper was covering the entire penny.

An accurate weight would tell us much.
