This coin was part of the large collection I bought earlier this year. I've researched Aureus Magnus and found that he made a series of gold & silver medals. Everything I've been able to find in silver is larger than this. I'm hoping someone may have seen one before or is a better researcher than I am. The medal weighs 2.02 grams and is 17mm in diameter. I haven't acid tested but I believe it's silver. Any help is appreciated.

One problem when you produce your own private currency, is this: there's not much legal recourse for you to take if other people start making lookalikes. They're not "counterfeits", since yours aren't "real coins" to begin with either, so the authorities would see it as a lower priority than somebody selling counterfeit money. The best you could hope for was charging them with some kind of copyright or trademark violation, assuming you could catch them.

In the Aureus Magnus series, "ducats" were gold; the silver coins were denominated in "argenteus" and didn't have the word "ducat" on them. The Nefertiti coins also all have the date in the space behind Nefertiti's headgear, and Werner Graul's WG monogram in the space in front, both of which are absent from your piece. So I think it's safe to conclude this is a copy; I would be surprised if it were solid silver.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Thanks for the detailed info. I strongly suspected this was a copy/fake/fantasy. I'm reasonably certain it's silver even though I haven't tested it. The edge looks slightly rounded like it might have been in a bezel.
