Your Title for the 2011-W ASE, " 2011-W Silver Eagle Burnished." The OGP Folder posted says " 2011-W American Eagle One Ounce Silver " Uncirculated " Coin. My Question, Why ... Any Clues ? People have called the Finish Uncirculated on Coinage for Many, Many, Many Decades, PROOF or UNCIRCULATED.. Confusing, Modern Day Coin Nomenclature......... Report this Post to the Staff

I just recently started buying burnished Silver Eagles and only have a few. The word burnished does not appear on the box or the COA but the coins have a matte finish compared to my brilliant uncirculated Eagles. I've read that the burnished Silver Eagles came out in 2006 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the coin and that since that time all uncirculated Silver Eagles with a W mint mark are burnished.
