Thank you, jbuck. I should be completing my Burnished ASE sets soon. However, as far as I know, there are three years since 2006 that do not have the ASE available in the burnished style. |

Kind of a confusing era for Uncirculated ASEs. No Uncirculated in 2009 & 2010. 2011 it was back. But no Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set yet. BUT the 2011W Uncirculated was also in the 25th Anniversary set, along with the only S Uncirculated ASE the Mint has produced to date. In 2012 the Annual Uncirculated Dollar set was back, with the different looking OGP than the 2008 set |

There was no uncirculated W Type 1, only Type 2. I guess I never thought about 2021 being missing, since there was a 2021. Just that there wasn't 2 that year, unlike 2011.

The year 2021 is not really missing, it's just incomplete since only one of the two coins was produced with the burnished finished. I look at it that way since my other ASE collections in Proof, Certified and Brilliant Uncirculated all have 2021 Type 1 and Type 2 included. Right, or even the reverse proof there's one of each. I guess I just look at a set as something different, what was made vs what wasn't.

The one thing they always bothered me is when they skip years like that. And then to add to it, they skipped the extra year on the Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin set. It's one thing that they didn't make the Uncirculated ASE 2 years, but then to have it back and not make the set? I can get it maybe even have the other coins in the set, maybe I should make myself a 2011 Uncirculated set, like I did with the 2015 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. The OGP works be probably impossible to pull off properly, I could still do it in a Capitol plastics display I guess. |
