Looks like a chemical removed the clad.

I'm liking the reverse as a partial missing cladding. The copper area doesn't show any signs of acid damage, it's still struck sharp. The obverse looks like rust?

I say it's a damaged coin that went through some form of chemical treatment. Can we gat an accurate weight?

It's clear that the copper-colored surface on the reverse is not a missing clad error. In certain areas, like the D of DIME, the surface was scraped after the coin left the press, and this has revealed underlying copper-nickel cladding.
