I got this one at my local flea market along with the DDO I already posted. Not bad... of 19 coins purchased two of them were nice varieties.

1964-P Kennedy half DDR-001, FS-801 Not this here.
Majority we see for 1964 Halves are Hub Doubling. Very few are major. In fact almost all coins have some doubling. If you want to collect them you will need 2 (TWO) lives. The VV it is not the most accurate site for Halves (in fact sucks).

You has a Hub Doubling and very minor one.

Nice find, lawest! I know little to nothing about halves but this is a nice doubled die, especially for a flea market find.

My friend, I will let you argue with another of your friends, Mike.

Any ebay folks using this term, I have no issue with.

MIKE Me I do a distinction between Doubling Dies and Hub Doubling. Me I look for the facts and try to understand the ways was happened. The market it is another word for me, and the vocabulary for this also. As was told us from 1000's of years: "History is repeating, only the social, economical environments change." So also the vocabulary change.

For what you find I will ask Mike D. to pronounce, maybe must be up-grade. I have many examples of different years with hub doubling part of the design and not Doubling Dies. One day we will have an consensus for this. What you can tell me about more then half of the Quarters Designs from 1932 till 1998 has Hub Doubling in the Q in Quarter? We will say Doubling Die?

This it is my opinion.

PS: I like to argue in order to find new things. In science we say: "Two different opinions or arguments, give us a discovery.", so why not on collecting.?

I agree that this is 1964 DDR-001, 1-R-II-C. The graphic below points out the matching notching in the stars and lettering of just one of your pictures. The rest of them seem to match up as well.

If we look at hole coin it is not. the most close it is 002. Split in letters is more Hub Doubling not DDR. All 1964 Halves has doubling in the stars. We go where?

Your DDR is the CONECA Listed 64 DDR-001, FS-50-1964-801 (LDS). Attached are some photos of the DDR-001 in my collection you can use to match to your DDR photos. First the star notching patterns of stars around the rim, stars between the rays and the stars behind the eagle's head. Also note the doubling on the ribbon. Attached are two markers I see in common with your photos and my DDR-001, the die scratches around the 1 of the date on the obverse, and the two die scratches southeast around the 2nd S of STATES on the reverse.

Looks like 001 to me. Nice find. Silviosi, DDR-002 is unassigned. Are you mixing up type RDV 002 with DDR-002?
