i am pretty sure but not 100 percent that this is a japanese banknote what is the value of it and what years was it produced thanks

Yup, it's a Japanese note. From the style it looks like a 1930s note, but on Ron Wise it's been taken by this one

But because it has the payment in gold clause on the back and the different serial number type, it could possibly be a 5 yen note from this series:

I believe this note is from the 1915-1917 Convertible Gold Note Issue, listed in Krause as #35 Ube Shrine at left and portrait of Takeuchi Sukune on right side. Nice note which has a value of G-$50, F-$100, and XF-$250.

Could be this one. Series 1916, circulated until 1939.

thanks for the help I really like the design on these japanese notes this is the only one I own but I have seen others.

my father was a garbage man and he found it while working. over the years he found a lot of silver and wheat's I wish he would of found more currency like this though
