Hello,
Wow, it has been awhile since I have been here. Lately I have been struggling about how to share my 2 hobbies, coins and vinyl records. I tried making YouTube videos and a Podcast but I was even boring myself. Then, I tried a newsletter and had the same problem. Lastly I tried a website but nobody went to it and I was having a lot of trouble taking pictures of my coins and coin sets for the website. . There are very few coin shows in my area as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thank You, Rich Rich M. - Collector since 2008

The act of sharing is a personal thing--ranging from hanging out with us, to going to the effort of building websites, newsletters, etc. (which you've attempted). What fuels your sharing itch?

Are you still in the greater Denver metro area? I'd assume there are a number of numismatic activities going on regionally--but since I don't live there, I can't speak with authority.

I'm still in the Denver area and we're down to one major coin show twice a year. I'm going to try and hop on here more to talk coins. I really want to try and photograph my coins and go for coin details and try not to obsess over lighting or the "perfect picture."

How about going to conferences? Good way of widening your circle of contacts and friends.

@snitchard: CCF is definitely one way your coin hobby can be a shared experience. Here's how I made it one for me: Read More: Commems Collection

Every time I visit the CCF, I am amazed at what I DONT know. Members here "share" in a way that both humbles and excites me. Jump aboard and share away. - Best, Tiny

jbuck has said it right.
The number of posts (he especially), and I have put up, is testament to that.
So to all CCF members:- Join in, and share your numismatic interests, whatever they may be. The knowledge we share costs nothing, and is yet highly valuable.

@commems I read your post on the 1982 Bald Eagle Silver Round and it was amazing, this is the kind of thing I want to be able to do. What is your main research method (books, Google, both?) How do you get the list page going on the forum?

Your post made me think of my own efforts to share this hobby with friends. I began collecting in 1972 and since then have found absolutely no one interested in it. Every now and then I'll drop the hint that I'm a collector but no one ever seems interested in knowing more.
I'll keep doing so, however, because if a friend comes across an unusual coin, they'll know who to ask about it.
