Hi. I found a plastic Lincoln Cent, and I ask not being an expert, if the origin is due to a souvenir or token, I don't know. Can you tell me for what purpose they were made in plastic?

Play money. Interesting to note that even a plastic one cent play money coin costs more than one cent to make.

In fact, they cost almost as much as the real ones. Can I say I have a rare piece, at least here in Italy? Naturally, I'm joking.

"Abraham Lincoln's face and the copper coin color add to their authenticity!" Yes, folks, these are authentic fake pennies!

Any lawyer will tell you that "authentic" is an excellent weasel-word, beloved of fraudsters and shady dealers for decades, due to its two possible meanings. In common usage it can mean either "genuine" or "realistic", depending on context. Keep the context ambiguous, and the claims for genuineness of the "authentic" item are equally ambiguous.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
