Edge reeding is only present on the reverse half of the edge.

Kinda looks like a Dryer Coin to me.

To CCF! Your coin has been damaged after it left the U.S Mint.

Yes, post strike damage. We see similar on various denominations, perhaps one per week.

@rain, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please add a picture of the edge of this dime showing that in is only present in certain areas? Thx.

to the CCF As Spence said, pics of the edge are needed. Might be a partial collar strike. But I'm thinking sanded down.

Thanks for everyone's input. my first thought was Dryer Coin. When I noticed the partial reeding I wanted to see if it failed any tolerances but it is with in spec. ie 2.2g, diameter, etc.

Yes @cuj that comment of yours was prescient. Based on this most recent pic, I agree that the partial reeding is also due to heavy mechanical wear rather than a mint error.

With the edge pic, I'm going to say sanded. With a partial collar there would have been a distinct line between the reeds and the smooth half of the edge and I don't think it would have went all around the coin. The reeds have been sanded.
