In the last two months I've bought Morgan's from reputable dealers I've known for years that were from original rolls. One is an 04-O from one dealer and two that are 80-S from my regular dealer. Both rolls were solid date/mint marked with all 20 in each roll identical in luster and detail. The 80-s' look ms-66 PL or better to me.
These dollars are stunning with amazing luster. It made me wonder how many original rolls and/or bags are still out there.
Does anyone know of either bags or rolls still unsearched and in the wild?

I have three rolls of MS Morgans (81S, 98O, 02O) that were put in plastic tubes back in the '60s. I've never even looked through them. They are out there.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The mint placed Morgans into cloth bank bags. There may be original bank rolls of Morgans, but not rolls from the mint. It is likely that there are still original bank bags that still exist. Here is a link on the same topic over 10 years ago. http://goccf.com/t/108523

The coin-rolling machines were invented in 1901 (at least that's the earliest found by a search): https://patents.google.com/patent/US672325 - you will note it's a device, not an improved device.

The oldest hand-wrapping patent found by search is 1879, https://patents.google.com/patent/U...?oq=US215788 which refers to a gelatin sheet so the coins are visible but acknowledges the common practice

So if by OBW you mean somebody took a piece of brown paper and rolled the coins in it, sure, they probably do still exist.

If you mean the kind of coin wrapper we use today - they aren't O

If I remember correctly, I read that there are only 4 original bags that are confirmed and accounted for, it was on another thread. No such thing as original rolls, those were all transferred from bags to rolls outside of the mint.
