Hi I'm new here, I have a general question about doubling on coins. More specifically about die doubling and Mechanical Doubling. If an entire roll of BU coins has the same doubling on every coin, would it be die or mechanical?

pictures would help very much here - however if every coin in a roll has the same 'EXACT' doubling - then it is most likely HUB doubling - which means that every cion will have it and that will reduce any inherent value because it is so common.

When is the last time an American coin had hub doubling? Just curious.

My guess is that he's got a recent roll of BU coins.

to the CCF The only way you could have one roll with all of one doubled die is if it was put together. If it's a true OBW bu roll it will usually have anywhere from 3 to 10 different die parings in it. I've found as many as 4 different RPMs or DDs in OBW bu rolls. You'd have a better chance with the amount of Machine Doubling that there is to have a roll with some kind of Machine Doubling on all of them.
