I recently discovered a 1980-D limcolnemorial cent that is about 8% off center, which is what first grabbed my eye. As I looked close thete is very little wear on the high points, particularly the date, mintmark and other highpoints, they are actualy unusualy hugh anf sharp snd crisp, the planchet is the same demensions as a pre 1982 95% copper Lincoln Cent but the weight is slightly different.also has a distinct "high dharp "ring" sound when flicked thats diffetent than other pre 82 us Lincoln cents..it shows virtualy no wear at the high points like date, lettering, ect..with the excepgion of one letter on the obverse which is barely stamped..whats odd is there appears to be a soft strike of the memorial where the steps and no evidence of Lincoln statue is visable..still the oddest part is the rim is stamped with lettering amd ineven faimt vertocle striations, I cant quite make out much but a handfull of the letters but there is a date of 194(?) It looks like 1948 but not positive, I'm stumped by this coin, I like errors and am a long time bbarely ammatute collector, I gpt it on change recently..any help would be greatly apreciated I am stumpted by it..thanls, *** Private information removed by Staff. we will need in order to help you. But most likely you just have a 'homemade error' What I mean it that your coin was pressed in a vise against a 194? cent.

It is never a good idea to just post your private information on a very public forum.
