Apparently he found those in Palestine, around 1940.
Thanks for the help!

The second coin appears to be a Jewish War prutah, dated year two (67/68 CE), Hendin 1360.

@the, first welcome to CCF. Second, that second coin appears to be a Judean Prutah similar to the one I have linked here from numista:

I'm not sure about the other two, but will move your thread over to the ancients subforum and hopefully get some good eyes on these.

Eat my dust, Dave.

First reminds me of some Mamluk issues, but it's not my area.

Hey everyone, thanks for the quick replies and the warm hello! I'm happy to be here.

As I just discovered, my grandfather, rest his soul, was exploring Palestine and the Judean desert in the early 1930s (not the '40s). While in the desert, he stumbled upon these coins, along with an ancient pendant and apparently some other mystery items, all buried in a pile of rubble formed after a flood hit the area.
He handed over the pendant and the rest to the Brits, who then rewarded him with a permit to keep the coins upon his return to Switzerland.

Thinking about my grandpa's adventures in the desert is so cool! Hopefully, someone can help identify the other coins :)

Thanks :)
Does anyone have an idea about the first and third coins?
