Hi all, I recently got this flowing hair large cent. I am fairly certain it is an 1796 as the reverse wreath only has one leaf at the top instead of 2 for 1794 and 1795 Cents. I also think I have it narrowed down on the Sheldon number---S-84, 86 or 87. Any thoughts?

The design is called Liberty Cap (1793-1796), not Flowing Hair (1793).

As for the Sheldon number, that would be very tough.
I've got Noyes' books but even with them I think it would take an expert to ID that coin.
And I'm definitely not an expert.

S-84 It is definitely Breen's Rev C due to the shape of the triplet left clusters tot he left of C in CENT (both inner and outer leaf clusters) Rev C is found on S-82, 83 and 84. On S-82 the 7 is further right with the serif of the 7 below the notch formed by the hair and the bust. On S-83 the last digit of the date is up very close to the bust, on S-84 it is down low. There is clearly significant space between the bust and the fourth digit so it isn't S-83. That leaves S-84. (S-86 and 87 have double leaf clusters to the left of the S in CENT)
