I found this quarter and curious if it is worth anything. It weighs 5.67 grams.

Environmental Damage. Not an error. It's been damaged, after it left the U.S Mint. No premium for it. I suggest you study up on actual errors on error-ref.com.

@moo, I'm not seeing any mint errors here either—just hard living. Sorry but this quarter is just worth face value.

Moodi76,

Looks like environmental damage, maybe a once buried coin.

Unable to fully evaluate since your photos are distorted by overmagnification beyond the 800x800 pixels the board recommends. Please use a size of 800x800 or so because that tends to make a sharper image, and works with more equipment which allows more members to participate.

I don't mean this to be rude, but why do people always write "multiple mint errors" like they already know it's a mint error (in fact, many!) before posting? Why not ask "Is this a mint error?" Anyway, as has already been said, this is not an error, just environmental damage, possibly from being buried underground.

Looks like it sat in liquid for a long time or maybe fire damage or a metal detecting find.

to the CCF and with eric. It's seen some fire at sometime in it's life. Sam, I think people see something different and the first thing they think of is it has to be an error. With all the get rich sites telling them that that next "error" coin they find will be worth a million dollars. They don't know you have to search thousands of coins to find a coin that's worth $10.00.
