Working on my lighting and it's tough with this phone. I think I need 2 light sources?

Anyway, this coin is in a 2x2 so there is some glare. I found this in circulation. It's a very clean coin. I gave it an acetone bath and put it in a 2x2 because it's very clean, but also has die scratches on the reverse. I'm a sucker for die scratches and die cracks.

What grade do you think this is?
Thanks

Might be finger feeder damage. One light source is best and coin out of holders whenever possible.

Pics too dark to see all field details clearly.

I'll try another round of pictures tonight. I will pop it out of the 2x2 to get the best I can.

Feeder damage on the planchet? before the strike?
There is clearly no scratches on the devices, just on the field. The scratches look raised to me on my 10x.

Thanks for the input so far.

the feeder feeds the planchet so it would not have yet been struck.

lots of shadows make this tough to assess. i'll wait for out of holder photos

Sorry, can't get better photos.
4 cameras later, 3 hours taken up with various tricks etc.
I'll stick to my day job.

Thanks

OK, so here are new pictures...if these are not good enough...I will put my coin picture skills to rest.

These look like die scratches on the reverse. Please confirm or deny.
And let me know your thoughs on a grade for this coin.

Thank you
Dan

Seems like die abrasion of some kind. All the scratches seem limited to the surface of the die, with none in the deeper devices.

the only way those marks could have occurred would have been prior to strike. the two options I can think of are feeder damage as John said or already on the planchet prior to strike. I dont think it was on the die. I've never seen it before so have no idea how a TPG would look at it. I would say it should not have any effect on grade.

your second set of photos are better. it can be a challenge to photo coins with highly reflective surfaces. if you think this is difficult try proofs. one of the biggest issues we see is folks using flash or overhead light from a single source. that doesn't work well at all. so it takes some time to figure it out using whatever camera you have. its a challenge pretty much everyone has

the coin does not appear to ever have seen any circulation. there are die flow lines present but unsure if thats what we are seeing across the profile. the hairlines are very light indeed there. the torch has a few marks on it towards the top end. i'll throw out a grade of MS65 possibly a + it appears to be FT
