I have this coin that came with some other ancients in a random coin lot several years ago, and I've just recently gotten around to trying to identify them. It has a decent amount of detail, but it's so tiny, all the letters on the obverse are not there. I'm not well versed in coinage this old, so I'm not sure what region to even start with. I've typed in everything I can think of, and I can't find a matching example anywhere. The only letters I can make out are on the reverse, and I think it says P/L or P/I or something to the like. I tried typing that in, and nothing came up for that either. I'm not sure what else to do.

@koi, it looks to me like a version of a Chi-Rho on the reverse. I suspect that narrows it down a bit and am interested to see the ID.

Agreed, it put me in mind of byzantine coins, early middle ages. Cannot guess at the type.

it's a tau-rho in the left field and the reverse looks like a SALVS REIPVBLICAE (Victory dragging captive). Here is a link to this type with assorted emperors-- https://www.tesorillo.com/aes/135/135i.htm

Thank you, I was really struggling with that one. It seems the closest to Arcadius with ALE mint/reverse
