It might be damage. Is it raised or incuse? If raised, it could be a Die Chip. If incuse, it could be a Struck Through error or damage.

Are there any other places on the coins like that, or are they just on the K and A? Can you post the entire front and back of the coin?

It seems to me that all three of these quarters have been damaged. It is a coincidence though that they came from the same roll.

It is actually incuse and raised. It's like a die chip was caught in the letters? I will get some pictures of one full coin tomorrow. There are small die cracks and chips on the nose of the obverse side of all three coins otherwise I don't see anything unusual.

Can you post up the full coins images for an overall reference. (In the same order) I have to say the it would appear that these are from different dies. on Image 1 the A is almost obliterated, but the K is untouched on Image 2 the A is only partly damaged, but the K has been affected on Image 3 the A is damaged 'almost' but not exactly the same as image 1, and the K has more damage the 1 or 2.
I don't have one of these coins in front of me at the moment, and I cannot remember if the letters themselves are incuse or not. If the letters are incuse, then I would venture a guess at die chips on the letters If the letters are raised, the my guess would go for a strike through.

I think that since the letters are incuse, and the anomalies looks raised, I would say die chips - parts of the letters on the die broke off. (the best I can do.)

Dearborn is likely correct. I've seen several of these. I kept two of them, one with a chip on the K and one with a chip on both the K and A.

I'm not sure exactly what caused these but it obviously wasn't PMD.

I guess I will just hang on to them since they are somewhat new. It is unusual that I got these from a bank role that was not all of the same 2023 quarters and also Dearborn said they all came from different dies. Must be worth something for the set of three other than 75 cents :).
