Hi I'm new at coin searching! Still not clear on errors but still researching. Can anyone tell me if anything is wrong with this penny? It seems to have a ring around and anywhere the wrong touches, it changes to color of the letter/ number.

It looks like it's from a coin rolling machine. Those are circular scrapes exposing the raw copper or zinc below.

need a much better image - larger and better cropped.
This also could be a Ridge Ring - seeing how it is in the usual location where they appear, combined to being so close to the rim.

So pick your poison - Wrapping Machine Damage, or Ridge Ring.

Circular motion by a machine makes letters and zero in date damaged, I also see Ridge Ring. I agree with all above statements.
