Looks like a great agenda. I'll be going up next Friday morning July 21 as I am close. I am keen to shop the bourse floor for old APNA/CNA medals. Here is a link to the convention; https://www.rcna.ca/2023/My first show in years due to COVID.

I get in on Monday. Hotel rooms are sold out due to the Indigenous Games going on at the same time.

Stephen Oatway (Britannia Numismatics) will be there. He has a bunch of old CNA medals listed on his website.

I'll be there on the 20th and 21st. Currently in Bedford, bumping around a bit to enjoy the beauty of the province as much as we can. No table, but I'll be on the floor walking around and chatting.
Feel free to call me Will.

I would actually love to go but its location is a huge deterrence. It would be, at least, a two day drive there AND back; so I guess I'm staying home this weekend. I'm sure it would be a great place for me to find all of the 'rare' NIFC Canadian coins I need to complete, or at least fill some holes, in several of my sets. I might find one item on my 'want list' every three years or so at all the coin shows here in Michigan. I have a little better luck when I head south to the semi-annual shows in Windsor, but very little. I hope those of you who do make the trip have a good visit, and I'm looking forward to seeing posts next week with news/info of the show.

Back in 2015 when the convention was last in Halifax, I took my son and daughter. They had a blast at the kid's auction, youth table and RCM coin exchange. My son picked up a few items from the youth table while my daughter bought a 1oz Maple as an investment. While my daughter has lost interest, my son, now 14 years old, and I will attend on Saturday. Back then he wanted to open his own coin store when he got older. Not sure about those plans now, but he still loves collecting. Back in 2015 the RCM had a coin exchange giving out the 2015 25c Canadian Flag 50th Anniversary with collector card. The designer of the coin, Bonnie Ross was there signing the collector cards. I tell my son to hang on to his signed card as I rarely see anything like that in auctions. I've attached a couple photos from back at the convention in 2015. One is my son with, as he said, the famous guy from tv. My son wore a tie, just so people knew he meant business. The other photo is when both my son and daughter were getting their collector cards signed. While my son and I attend on Saturday, I see from the schedule for that day there will be the RCNA Youth Table and RCNA Coin Kids Junior Auction. Just wondering if anyone may know if my son would be too old for the youth table or junior auction this year?

Some of the spoils. Visited Britannia Numismatics and bought some APNA and CNA medals. Very nice gentleman Stephen. Met Mark Dalrymple another APNA medal aficionado. Also bought Rob Turner's book off the author who was kind enough to autograph my copy of Past and Nearly Perfect - on Large Cents of Canada. All in all a great day.

Question for those who were there......
Were they giving out "wooden nickels" with dimes in them as an admission bonus?

I did not see any gifts at all, short visit returned Friday, sat on a AC flight for about 45 minutes waiting for lightning to pass missed the floods. Not much pickings for me, but great to see many far away friends, Thursday was okay but got more busy as the day went on
