Looks like zinc to me, but my tip would be to get a scale. You can get jeweler's scales for like $10 online

Appears to be a zinc to me as well, I can see little zinc bumps on the fields.

oh yeah - it is a small date (added to cover all my bases)

Small date, yes, Does appear to be zinc. Obverse is showing a ridge ring--a sure sign of Die Deterioration. Save up for a scale.
