My friend Fourmack is having problems uploading photos, so I'm putting these on for him. Is this a genuine 1987 dollar? It is thinner than others. (It's the one in the middle) Is that just wear, or is there anything that indicates it may be counterfeit?

I sent an email to Fourmack to give him some good info from the Haxby Canada guide. These were the coins that the dies were lost on the way to the mint from Ottawa to Winnipeg. The loon dollars (the new design draft) were struck only for BU sets, with weights and dia different from the Voyageur dollars and were bronze plated nickel. I'm sure that some of the planchets got (mixed up) or something. I don't think that it's a fake, although they never recovered the original dies.

I am almost 100% sure that the lost dies were a voyaguer dollar design and round and the loonie became the emergency design

If it's the coin first pic/ middle the rim looks almost worn to being round, so looks like a lot of wear may be responsible for the weight.

The rim looks filed down on the one side. I think it's legit, just really beaten up.
