Maybe two coins, somehow matted together, by heat or corrosion?

Sparky replies aside, there are 2 things that I can't wrap my head around:

1: why did she isolate this penny of the 1000s of other wheats?

2: Call me a fool, but "Road rash" does not explain that fold, esp considering the bottom half of the fold is completely "clean" for lack of a better word. While there's 1 notch along the rim of the fold, once you move closer left of the rim, its smooth.

As for the weight: 2.91g | width: 0.1cm | length:1.92cm

Ricksta- All of us are telling you it's PMD, there is nothing special about that extremely damaged coin.

The PSD is going to overwhelm anything else you think you are seeing.

The fold on the coin is part of the PSD, even if there was a slight split planchet ("clamshell") that allowed it to fold over.

Maybe she thought it was worth saving. If I had to guess how, I'd say it got caught in some kind of machine like a water pump impeller for a while.
