I also have a 1937 Quarter and know something is off.
It weights only 4 grams. I don't see any lines in the mold. It really goes thud when dropped.

ell in the late 30's early 40's a quarter ws still a significant amount of money.

I have two counterfeit Washington quarters. One is not bad, but the other has broken in half. Evidently there was enough economic incentive for people to fake them.

The inner surfaces of the break have a pebbled texture. It's not lead, so must be some sort of pot metal. 4.62 g.
