So too me, as an untrained eye, the all look like bright shiney new pennies. My color and shadows are still off in the pics. But there are all 10 - 20 years old. Do I push on through them one by one? I want to believe there may be some MS in there, but I don't know. I have time, what would you do?

Were it me, and I was filling a Lincoln Cent album, I would see if they fit in any holes. Otherwise they are spenders, as none will meet the MS68 or higher criterion for slabbing.

None of these coins will ever be worth more than face value. But then there's the thrill of filling in a hole, which can easily trump any possible monetary gain.

I'd sort by date.mint, then each date/mint by grade. Maybe save a couple from each year that grade the best.

yes, Sort them first by same year then by Mint. Then, if you are curious about any known errors or varieties, look up the year/mint and then search all coin of that same year/mm. Then move on to the next pile. If you find anything of interest, post them up here. (don't forget to search for WAM or CAM too.

Hang onto the very best as album hole fillers--spend the rest. In my cent roll searching, I re-roll hundreds of these 'low MS' examples monthly and take them to my dump bank. And of course, after doing some research, do check more closely those which are known to have (documented) errors.

Read my advice in your thread on the 1995-D cent - how to determine if your cents are MS or not.

That would be a useful skill to have as a collector.

Agreed that all of these are worth face value. Keep the best of each year & mint and spend the rest.

ijn1944 knows better but misspoke - errors are random occurrences that can affect any coin and are a result of a mistake in the minting process.

What you want to learn are the documented varieties - varieties are differences in the die and result in many coins being minted that are different in some identifiable way than the 'normal' coins for that year.

For example - the 1970-S small date cent is a variety, not an error.
