I am just curious, has anybody got the new nickel yet in your pocket change? I still have not received one yet.

Don't look for them any time soon. The dealers CAN'T even get the darn things and the P mint mark is bringing a huge premium already as for some reason or another the P mint marked nickels have disappeared off of the radar screen after leaving the mint? Seems someone is trying to pull a fast one? Perhaps we are seeing something similar to the 1950D nickel in the making? I have searched for cases for my dealer as the dealer network in this area is BONE DRY of the nickels and this is usually where all the first released nickels end up. Have located and purchased a few cases but they are still pretty scarce at this time. Be patient as they are going to be around for ever, thanks to our useless Congress and the self centered elected officials from Virginia! They will eventually turn up.
And, if worse comes to worse, give me an email as I have a few I can let go but be forwarned as I paid a dime a piece to get the darn things!

I have also received the "P" nickel in change here in NC. But as I have never collected change from circulation I never thought anything about them being hard to find or anything. I have thought about going through my change since I joined this forum but I just cant bring myself to look through all the change I get because circulated peices just do not appeal to me for some reason

You never know what you might find in circulation. Ive found many a dozen wheat pennies and my buddy got 3 silver dimes in circulation. And apparently the 2006 p nickel is a good one to keep. I'm in WV and found 2 lol. If you dont find them someone else will.

The new Jefferson nickel just started showing up around here within the last week. We have been seeing Denver mint marked coins, and no P's as yet. But we ususally dont' see any of these until the summer months and the flat landers from back east start arriving to OHHHH! an AHHHH! the wild life aroud here.

Like I said before I started coming to this forum I never thought about collecting sirculated coins and I still cant bring myself to sit for hours to looks through my change. I didnt know anything about errors or anything until I started here also though. Maybe one day I will be able bring myself to sort through the 7 or so 10 gallon jars full of change I have in the closet

I got one yesterday, D mint, but it was because a convenience store clerk knew me, and saved it for me.

I have two 'P' 1000 coin mint bags and have found the most interesting error - a good size die crack across the hide near the tail. One roll I went through had ten of these. A coin dealer told me they aren't worth much because it's not a large error. It is uniform on all 10 coins. I think he's way off base. Has anyone else heard of this particular error?

I got some in change and I'll tell you what...these coins are butt ugly.
I could live with the reverse, but the obverse is terrible. Wait till these coins get some wear. It will be just a blob.
To me, I think profiles look and wear better than coins where the designs look right at you. Another example of the CCAC gone mad...IMO.

I agree Zak, these are proably the ugliest images of Jefferson I've ever seen. Poor Jefferson is probably hanging his head in embarrassment that anyone would produce a coin with such an image. Kinda looks like his mama cut his hair!
Shame on who ever approved this design of Jefferson.
