My wife Pat and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary last April 7. Now, we continue that celebration with our first trip to Europe. We embark on our great adventure in a couple of days.

I would welcome suggestions as to which coins to look for during the trip, as well as how to obtain coins in various foreign countries. Also, should anyone know of coin shops worth visiting along our way, please let us know.

Second only to sightseeing will be my quest for coins.

By the way Terry, you may need to take over as Knights' scribe for the next 30 days or so.

I think the Titanic went down in April, but if we avoid icebergs, I hope to report back about the middle of May.

Following are our "Ports of Call."

Delta, Colorado to Pueblo,
then to Denver where we fly to
Houston, where we board the cruise ship,
and head across the Gulf of Mexico,
stops include,
Miami,
Bermuda,
The Azores,
Waterford, Ireland,
Dublin, Ireland,
LeHavre, France, and the Normandy Beaches,
Dover, England,
and London.
Then, side trips to
Paris,
Scotland,
Brussels, Belgium,
Stonhenge and Bath.
Three days in London, then a flight to Paris,
then a flight from Paris to Houston, to Dallas, to Denver,
back to the truck and head for home.

Quite a trip!

Have a nice trip Gary!
All the places on your route are among the landmarks of the world. I'm sure you will enjoy every second of your trip.
I guess you shouldn't forget to carry an umbrella in Britain, and keep in mind that in French restaurants, asking for ketchup is not the best idea

So getting married is your excuse for going to Europe, is it? Well, I hope you take along some extra cash for those darkside coins you will be seeing along the way. Talk about being in a candy store!

Have a safe trip and stay away from all that political unrest over there at this time. Hurry home, as I'm afraid that Terry will have his hands full just collecting the incoming coin for the contest.

Hope you have a nice holiday

If in Brussels you have time remember money exchangers will sell gold coins at goldvalue
I include a link to the biggest ones
First is gold4ex ( click on goudkoersen ) to see their hourly prices

http://www.gold4ex.be/servlet/Home.class

Eurogold is closer to the trainstation but his prices are only indicative

http://www.eurogold.be/UK/main.htm

It should be fairly easy to get an uncirculated rooster or angel at goldprice even dutch 10 florins or belgian Albert I etc
Just hide you are american an englishman probably gets one euro discount
