I am interested in the braille coin
but
as I looked at the Mint site
I saw the three coins available and thought
Why would I buy a proof coin to feel the braille
I was once a braille transcriber - it would be nice to have one of these coins to allow some of my visually impaired friends to experience a coin that had braille on it.
but to pay $37 for the privilege - not what I will do.
also was disappointed that the braille on the coin is the abbreviation for braille- and it does not contain the denomination in braille-
thus we have a coin with braille on it but it is like printing a one dollar bill without the letters or numeral one (1)
another intelligent decision by the mint
