I have a 1945 silver Wheat penny, I called around and they said that there was no such thing but I have it right in front of me!! can someone help me out.

That would be a steel penny. They were made in WW2.

What you have is a steel cent.
Copper was needed to make bullet casings for the war, so the mint used steel to make your penny.

it didnt look like the one in the pic, it didnt have the mint stamp and its really shiny!

You're right, there wasn't a 1945 Steel cent. If you could post a pic that should help a lot. MorgansRmine is probably right though.

Break out the magnifier. Does the surface feel slippery? Could have been bathed in mercury (which is poisonous! ). I smell hijinx of some sort. But then again it could have been a mispitched dime (or foreign) planchet that made it into the cent barrel. Then I would believe that verifying the weight would come into play.
