Just check e-bay and the price for the 2 set rolls of Lincoln cents bids are up to $24 plus $9 for shipping.
I thought we buy these coins for the coins. It seems everybody's excited about the wrapping paper not the coins. The bank sell the same coins for 50 cents per roll.
Rest in Peace

There's more than 1 born every minute. Why do you think the mint keeps putting out all those non circulating bullion "coins?"

I think people are worried that they won't be able to get them from the bank. That may or may not be true...I am still trying to figure that out myself.

My bank just told me TODAY....that they WILL NOT BE GETTING "ANY" OF THE 2009 CENTS AT ALL THIS YEAR !.....(and they also will not be getting any 2009 nickels either for that matter, for some reason)
So, runnin' down to the bank to get some BU rolls of the 2009 Cent designs IS NOT an option for me ......zero....can't happen.
And she said they only got $500.00 worth of the new D.C. Quarter for ALL FOUR BRANCHES IN TOWN.

So, the only way I would ever get ANY 2009 Cents, would be to wait until they start "showing up" in day to day transactions.....or order rolls of Cents from the Fed. Resv. and try to pick out the best culls from those circulated rolls.

Yes, I could ask other banks that I don't belong to, but, at least at this point, the only way "I" can get rolls of BU 2009 Cent designs, is from The United States Mint.....and I suspect I will not be alone in this.

That's right, you guys just keep dissing the 2009 T1 coins. Let me tell you, the scarcity has already been created and established. If you think you'll be able to walk into a bank ANY time, days, months, years from now and get "free" 2009 T1 P/D rolls, you're dead wrong. If you think, yea, I'll just buy them on ebay or from a dealer or wherever for $1 roll someday in the future....you're dead wrong again.

Let me point something out for the hundredth time: Only 194.4 million P mint T1 coins were made, that's the lowest mintage since the 1955-S Lincoln and UNREAL low for a modern cent coin. The collector/hoarder demand ALONE has inhaled any coins released thus far. THE MINT WILL MAKE NO MORE 2009 P/D TYPE ONE COINS EVER AGAIN! They have to focus on making the next three type coins they are obligated to produce by law.

The value of the T1 coins WILL ONLY RISE in value from here on! It's called supply and demand. So, go ahead and keep living your pipe dream that there will be billions of T1 coins and you'll see them in the "bottom of fountains" and by the "box full at the bank".....IT IS NOT GOING TO EVER HAPPEN. Face it, if you want them, the longer you wait, the more you're going to have to pay the piper.

I don't know what average mintage figures for Lincoln cents are. I'll take ya'lls word for it that 194.4 million coins is low mintage. The real figure to be concerned with is how many are saved by collectors out of any one year.

It doesn't make any difference if collectors preserve 194 million out of 194 million coins, or 194 million out of a billion coins. The end result is still 194 million coins in pristine condition. Scarcity only occurs if there is a demand for more than 194 million coins. Right now it looks like the demand is there, how long it will last is anyones guess.

More than one person at my bank has chuckled when I asked if they had them. They don't expect to get any of them.
