A 1952 with what appears to be a mint mark between the 9 and 5. A variety or an error or wishful thinking

Difficult to be certain from the pics posted. I'm thinking post-strike damage. Beware Pareidolia.

I'm confused. That is where the MM should be. Is your question about, placement, or the MM ?

I see a reverse D, an E, a 1 between 5 and 2, small lines on top of m/m, many other items as well. Dirt and stain will allow the mind to try to make since of different designs, just like the face on the moon.
