to the Forum, Lilo!
It appears to just be a normal circulated dime.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Greetings, I promise you will have your answer, but first we have to have your photos. Please show the Obverse and Reverse plus any area of interest. The 1974 that was struck in Philadelphia would have no mint mark and produced 470,248,000 of them. So lets wait for photos

They minted 470,248,000 of them in Philadelphia and there would be no mint mark for this year.

Sorry but a common business strike, and this may help with taking better photos, all you need is some books and a bottle cap

Selling coins is a rough arena, people want high end quality coins, in slabs mostly, or outrageous Varieties/Errors. look your coins up as a high grade example and you might just find they are not worth much unless very special. Check ebay auctions for the coins you have, but make sure that are exactly what you have so as not to get misdirected.

It is normal not to have a mint mark on the 1974 Roosevelt dime minted in Philadelphia .

I agree with Dutch-Tigger.
Having no mint mark is normal for the year on "business strike" coins.

(Lilo13, your coin is not a proof coin.)

I suspect were dealing with a circulated business strike '74. Hope to see full, large and sharp pics of the obverse and reverse.
