I was just going through my collection and I came across this gem! (See below) and I was just curious on how rare it is to have the S mint mark? Thanks!

1944-S is pretty common in well circulated condition like yours. Nothing out of the ordinary for a Wheat cent of that age.

First off it's a cent, 1/100 of a dollar. TECHNICALLY a Penny is an English unit of money. That said, even the mint has given up and uses penny.

Second, it's been in circulation for a long time, and has seen a lot of usage and that shows in the wear and tear, dings, and such.

Third, circulated cents from the 40s and 50s are not rare, they're worth maybe 3-5 cents each in bulk.

Fourth, yeah, finding a coin from 79 years ago is pretty neat!!!!
