To CCF! It could be a Dryer Coin. PMD.

@emm, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that this dime has been damaged, but it is hard to know for sure in which way(s). The slight bulge on the portrait makes me think this coin has been exposed to high heat.

What does the edge look like? Weight. Looks like either heat damage,a Dryer Coin or acid damage. Not an error though, it is PMD.

Thank you everyone for your input, I didn't think about the outside elements! Now I know, and again thank you all so much.

Emmy, the outside element should be the first thing you think about. Outside of the mint. Meaning PMD. Most people when first starting out find something unusual, and think it has to be a minting error. More than likely it's just damage. Learning how coins are minted will help you to know what an error is.
