So I have a full roll of these uncirculated 1942 wheat pennies and pretty much all 50 of them have obverse doubling in the same places, the top of Lincolns head, his forehead. Six of them also have doubling on the bridge of Lincolns nose and his tie. I checked Wexlers doubled die varieties and they almost match 003 but without a few of the markers, such as the doubling on the Y of liberty and the rear die crack on the wheat stalk.
Thank you for that information about retouching and channeling. Would the lines look slightly distant from the edges of Lincolns face when looked at under a scope? Or would they be close?
