Over the last few weeks I came across these 3 quarters and tossed them aside for later review/posting/investigating. They are from the years 1989, 1994, and 2004(Texas quarter). They are slightly different shades of grey, ranging from dark grey to light grey/silver. They all have that pockmarked kind of lock to them. The older of the 2 have very faint to no reeding but can still see or partially see a clad layer. SO I don't think it I missing clad. MY next thought was annealing error but I don't think that is wright either. Leaning towards PMD but would hate to send it back without knowing. What do you all think? Thank you in advance.

All look very corroded. Looks like some kind of acid dip or something maybe? I think your PMD assessment is likely correct. See what more experienced members have to say.

Yes all three look damaged to me. Hard to say how though.

Agreed, just PMD. They're spenders.

@John1 ... No! Sorry, I must have still been typing after you posted! I'm a slow typist (typer, one who types?) ... Especially when using the keyboard on my phone.

From the point of view of Quarters, I think I am more experience then John, so I will answer.

What you has are just very circulated coins who was at one time in some bad environments. From point of view of collecting are Zero.

igwt79, I was just joking around
silviosi, You are more experience then I with quarters. Do you or do you not agree it is acid damage like from being buried in acidic soil?

Agree with the 'exposure to a corrosive environment' assessment. Coins in question did not exit the striking chamber in that condition.

John I do not disagree about some acidic environment. Could be also some corrosive solute and funny could be Coca-Cola. I saw ones some coins who was in Prestone and believe or not you has impression of the Hiroshima or Nagasaki 1945 coins.
