I noticed that the NGC price guide has a lower value for their graded common CC Morgans in GSA holders (78, 80, 81, 82,83, 84 and 85). So many of those GSA morgans are getting cracked out that I would think that the price of those should be significantly higher. PCGS doesn't make a distinction between GSA / Non GSA. Anyone have any opinions for why this is? I mean a collector could just crack the coin out of the GSA holder and resubmit (and hope for the same grade).

Check the date they have listed for when they last updated it. A quick look at the 1880CC GSA has it last updated 6/17/21.

I think you're on to something there. the 78 has been updated and the GSA is worth a lot more than the non-gsa. nice find!

IMO, they are only worth a premium if they are still in the OGP holders. I have one being graded by ANACS to remain in holder. Once it is out of the holder, it means nothing IMO. Just because it says GSA on a slab...pffftttt. I feel the same about Binion stuff and the like. Dont really care what collection some coin was in.
