I tried to research the JFK counterstamp but was unsuccessful. Maybe chafemasterj or someone else can enlighten me as to the specific meaning. Mourning? Election campaign support? Something else?

I wonder if the K was added at a later date, as it seems to be a slightly different font from J. F., and there is no period after it.

My guess is that someone's initials were "J.F." and then the K was added later either by the same guy or someone else.

N. B.: The JFK we know was five years old when this coin was minted.

JFK attended his first political rally in 1922, some office his grandfather was running for, but that's way too obscure for somebody to commemorate on a 1922 Peace dollar.

In 1922, JFK was not JFK yet.
