Hi, I have been studying numismatic books, video etc. for around 1 1/2 years now and the more that I understand makes me realize how much more there is that I oblivious to. I look at sites for comparisons with I have and the one on the screen says it is a doubled die causing the extra thickness. My coin looks just as extra thick. Neither has splits or notches. Also, on mine, there are no ejection marks. But the die marks don't match. I could put up pictures but this is just for knowledge. I read if they don't match, no good. I would love to know what you guys and gals think. Thank you

Just to be clear @ddot, the extra thickness is on the design elements themselves (ie they are wider) rather than of the coin. I think you and @hondo might have a slight disconnect on this point.

Photos really are necessary to comment, as, like Spence said, I'm not sure you're understanding what is meant by extra thickness.

to the CCF The first thing is you have to have the double. The markers are second. They confirm that you have it. Sometimes you can have the double and no markers. Maybe it's an earlier die state than when the markers show up. You can have a DDO with the markers on the obverse, but the reverse shows none. In that case the reverse die was changed. It gets a little confusing at times. Stick with it you'll get it.
