Not new to the forum but new to this area of collecting. Looking for any advice or tips on the question of collecting a Farthing Type set of hammered as well as milled examples of the Monarchs. I have obtained a few of the current examples (Victoria to Elizabeth ll) but am concerned as I get deeper into the past. I bought The Standard Catalog of World Coins and Coins of England by Spink and read as much info online as I could find. Now what I'm looking for is reputable sources to buy from to minimize and hopefully eliminate fakes. Only looking for raw and examples moderately+ priced. Any opinions on buying on ebay? Thanks

@bcli, consider looking at the various stores on ma-shops.

Buying from a reputable dealer is IMHO the only way. Two spring to mind, both British. Dei Gratia is one, and Ingram's is the other. There are several others that are worth looking at. A magazine like Coin News, from Token Publishing is a good place to start looking for adverts. Best wishes!
