I have received a large collection of asian / Chinese coins. I unfortunately have no knowledge of the coins. They were purchased from an estate in which the collector had owned a coin shop in the 1980's & 1990's. They had said he sold the majority of his collection before his passing. I will be posting quite a few more Chinese coins.

I was wondering about the authenticity of this coin as well as date / variety info & approx value. Majority of coins have been in brown paper envelopes for who knows how long.

I was able to test that the coin was 90% silver on my sigma metalytics machine. Diameter of the coin is 39.5mm.

Oops, should be corrected now. I thought that was the reverse & the dragon was the obverse?

In most authoritive circles, the side with the emperor's name would be the obverse.
It's just a matter of authors and publishers to agree on which side is which.
I follow the same general rule.
