Acetone will not remove corrosion from steel cents, which is simply rust.

The core of the 1943 cents is steel. Once corroded, they are goners and worth 2-3 cents at best. They are a waste of acetone.

The good news all of the 43's are dirt cheap, even in mint state. They were massively hoarded so they are of little value today.

Nothing is going to make them "better". They are circulated steelies with some environmental stuff here and there. You can't reverse that.

To the original question. Yes, you can use pure acetone on any coin. It does not react with metals. It will remove organic gunk, adhesives and the like, but doesn't do anything about corrosion or verdigris or patina.

Thank you..I believe most of this is just environmental and can't reverse 80 years of environment
