To CCF! I agree. There's some Machine Doubling showing on the letters. Full obverse and reverse pictures will help us to see what's going on with the rim.
Errers and Varietys.

Appears to be a double mis-aligned set of dies in 2 different directions. I can see parts of a Rim Fin on the obverse centered at K4

Will it cover the cost of a case of beer or perhaps a 20yrs single malt scotch?

Looks from your title that you think the lack of a mint mark is an error. It isn't, just means minted in Philly.

I am happy with my first finding. BTW, several yrs ago, I inherited a coin collection of several 100s different types, mostly silver from the mid-1900, never graded. My grandfather and my father started in the 60s. They were collected in Puerto Rico. I have the books my dad used for the hobby (pic below). Any suggestions on how to tackle the project?

Quote: Looks from your title that you think the lack of a mint mark is an error. It isn't, just means minted in Philly. I wish we could purge the hobby of all this " no mint mark" nonsense. Sorry, pet peeve. Somewhere out there something has been promoting this notion that " no mint mark" equates to valuable. I see it a lot in ebay listings. I suspect it originated with the handful of rare "No S" proof coins. Anyway, I agree it's a slightly misaligned die.
