Australian 1 Cent with extremely faint Obverse. Has anyone got one of these. I wonder what it would be worth.

We'll need to see a larger picture of the obverse to offer any insight into your coin.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply,

Sorry. Not much good at photographing coins.

After a lot of stuffing around this is the best I can do.

Hi Dekkie27 and to the forum!

Yes, your pictures aren't clear enough to give a definitive answer but as only the obverse appears to be affected I would be tending towards it being a die fill error, most likely caused by oil or grease.

With regards to getting a clearer picture, maybe you could try getting the coin in focus rather than trying to get up really close and then edit the photo by cropping and/or enlarging it. Or, if you have a scanner, you could try this also.

Interesting coin obverse no date die fill or weak strike error, Another picture of Reverse would be great.

Full lamination split;
scarce, but not rare, with Australian coins of this vintage.

I'd be interested to know if the edge of the coin appears to be of normal thickness and also what the weight of the coin is?

Hi coaster,

Edge thickness appears to b normal. Unfortunately I don't have the equipment which shows milligrams which if there is a difference it would be milligrams.
