1856 Large cent for your consideration. I'm thinking maybe a good.. 10 to 15. What do you think.

I'll say VF-35 sharpness, bit concerned about possible cleaning, especially right obverse field.

Wear wise, I see more an AU-50ish but agree with coinfrog on some of the issues present

Can't really judge originality of surfaces with this pic, but I would suspect a cleaning. The discoloration may just be the angle of the light.

But I don't see it as anything less than high XF or AU. Light wear spots. The strike could be stronger, especially on the reverse, but this coin hasn't seen a lot of circulation.

If you're new to grading coins,. check out this site ...

I'm more in the 40-45 camp. I see obverse wear on curl at bust, ear top, brow over eye, bun and beads on hair and top of coronet. None of the stars show definition. Reverse seems to have some sort of scrapes on the outside of the top-most leaf, but that could be the picture. I like the apparent Machine Doubling on the base of AMER of "America."

XF sharpness. Unsure about color whether its from cleaning or bad lighting. Different pics might help.

Looks like some finger rubbing and not a cleaning. EF-45 straight grade.
