I was wondering if anyone can take a look at the word HALF DOLLAR (Most visible in letters F&D). I'm having trouble telling whether it is a double machining error or double die. This is the same case with the leaves of the branch on the reverse side.

P.S. I'm new to coin collecting I'm helping my uncle with submitting coins for NGC grading as he doesn't speak much english and I don't have much knowledge about coins in general and how to tell what coins are worth more than others. Where can I get started? Thank you!

to the CCF Your first duty to your uncle is to learn as much as you can about coins before you send anything in. You came to the right place to learn. This site has a lot to give, use the search tab here. Buy a Red Book, you can learn a lot of things there. Don't rely on u tube for anything. Same with facebook. Who knows, after learning more you might become a collector.
