So I just got a new Dansco album for my Indian cents. Beautifully constructed...except. Started moving Indians to the new album tonight, but it's like the holes are just a little too small. I have to put a huge amount of force onto the coin to get it in the album. I've been using an Indian with no value to try to enlarge the hole some before putting in the actual penny, but it takes too much force. Anybody experienced this? I can't believe it's supposed to work this way. Contacted the seller with this same question, BTW.

This is normal for a new album.

OK - but I'm afraid I'll put a rub on some of these coins forcing them in. I'll keep using a worthless coin to get the hole prepped as much as possible. My old Whitman did not do this, but I've never dealt with the Dansco product.

They can be tight sometimes. A sacrificial coin does help. I like to use a clean, white cotton cloth (usually a t-shirt) to help get coins into the holes. I try to apply pressure as close to the rim as possible.

Thanks for the info. Seemed strange to have to struggle to get the coins into the album.

I've had that problem with folders especially Whitman but never with a Dansco Album.

Well you won't have any 'rattlers' and have them rotating in the holes like hole 7 on the early pages of the Dansco Quarter pages of album 8140....

Well said Dearborn. I'd rather have tight hole than loose. No funny comments.
