Hello All This is my first gold coin. I bought from some one that needed money. I am very happy with the coin and plan on keeping it no matter what it grades. Thanks for any help I can get. I hope the pictures are good enough if not let me no. Thank you Dennis

Your pics are plenty good enough to take a stab at a grade. Really, really nice fields, free of the usual chatter which gold so easily acquires. This one's premium for the assigned grade. I see just a very little wear, and estimate around AU53-55 with a value somewhat north of $200.

The 1853 quarter eagle is a common date and makes a good type coin. This example seems well-struck, with few marks and only light wear. I think the "doubling" at the L of LIBERTY is just shadows and dirt.
Depending on the amount of luster remaining, I think this one could grade as high as AU-58. It's a nice start to your gold coin collection!

Kinda looks like a scan, in which case the dark areas in the fields would indicate considerable original luster remaining.
