Hello guys, I have an interesting 1914-S Buffalo nickel here, pls check the pictures and let me know if the reverse has a mint error or a post mint damage. If it's mint error then will it make a straight grade of VF25? Pls let me know your thoughts.

This is called a lamination defect or "peel". It is a type of planchet flaw and not PMD.

Agree this is a lamination issue. I'd grade it EF-45.

Excellent example of a lamination issue.

solid XF45 and I think it has a shot at AU50.

Note: the rear hock is almost completely gone. either due to it being in the vicinity of the lamination or the die was heavily polished there. the lamination looks like it runs all the way up into the upper shoulder area. looks like there is another lam error to the left of the rear loin as well as running down from the last S in STATES to the back.

Thank you so much guys! Really helpful comments. Just wondering if the lamination error makes it more attractive or less attractive from a value perspective? Let me know your thoughts.

It certainly doesn't harm the value, though I suspect it doesn't really add much of a premium, either. Then again I don't look for mint error coins, so I may be way off. The variety & error forum has people with a lot more expertise.
